I started photographing during the tumultuous last gasps of the apartheid regime in Cape Town, South Africa. My first photography assignment almost ten years later saw my work make the cover of the second issue of ‘Design Indaba’ magazine, then working for the ‘Mail&Guardian’, ‘ BBC Focus on Africa ‘ and other media organisations. At the same time I had started working in photography and documentary productions , as a runner at first then working as a production manager /co-ordinator. Later on shooting and directing short documentaries for organisations like the ‘Foundation for Community Work ‘ ( FWC working in early childhood development for 40 years) and WWF (World Wildlife Federation’s community based projects).
